What exactly is a Thailand Digital Arrival Card?
If you want to go to Thailand as a Dutch person for a vacation or business trip, you need to apply for a TDAC before you will enter the country. This is actually a kind of immigration card, which you have to fill out on the plane for some countries. As of May 1, 2025, this process has been completely digitized and you must arrange it within 72 hours before departure. For this, you need to specify, among other things, where in Thailand you will be staying and what flight number you will be entering the country with. In addition, you may have to answer some additional immigration questions, regarding baggage for example or cash you will be taking with you. All of this is intended for customs, so that upon arrival they can immediately see if a traveler has anything special to declare, has certain health problems or has certain products or currency in their pockets that may be subject to tax.
Upon arrival, your TDAC will be checked by local immigration officers. This is done at airports or border crossings. In some cases, your passport control and required document check will already take place upon departure from the Netherlands.
