Visa Cuba

If you are going on vacation or on business trip to Cuba, you need a visa. This applies to all residents of the European Union, including Dutch and Belgians. Minors also have to have their own evisa Cuba. If it concerns a tourist trip, the application can be submitted completely online via the Application form on our website.

The Cuba visa is an evisa. The e-visa code replaces the paper green tourist card which was previously issued.

Yes, an evisa is also needed for children as well, regardless of their age, before traveling to Cuba.

You can find the costs for the eCuba visa on the Application form. This includes processing fees, consular fees, transaction fees (for iDeal/Bancontact payments), and VAT.

Additionally, we offer the option to use an expedited procedure, in which the Cuba visa will be sent on the same day. We charge an extra €24.95 for this service.

If desired, you can extend your tourist visa on-site at an immigration office for an additional 90 days. This allows you to stay in Cuba for a total of 180 days. The business visa can also be extended on-site.

Since the introduction of the e-visa mid 2024,  the pink tourist card has expired. Both the green and pink tourist cards have expired and have been replaced by the digital e-visa. You are also required to register the Cuban immigration service prior to your trip. This involves the online Dviajeros with which Traveldocs can also help you, of course.

Since 2025 it does not matter any more whether you enter Cuba from the USA or from another country.

If you have not received an email from us within an hour after completing your visa payment, please first check your spam folder. If you still haven’t received an email, please contact us by phone or email through the contact page.

You can apply for your tourist evisa online at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Cuba evisa will be sent to you by email within 2 working days, unless you have the urgent procedure. In that case, we often send the visa the same working day. 

You can also apply for a business visa through us. Please contact us to inquire about the options available.

You can apply for the Cuba evisa one year before your departure from Cuba, as no arrival date is specified on the visa. However, we recommend applying for a business visa at least 15 days prior to your trip, as we send the Cuba visa via regular mail. This allows for delivery within the Netherlands to take a maximum of 4 working days and up to 8 working days for shipments to Belgium.

Are you already traveling to Cuba in the short term? We can expedite your visa application. Urgent requests for a Cuba visa submitted and paid for before 12:00 PM on a working day will be processed the same day and sent to you by post. You can submit the urgent application using the regular online application form. Make sure to check the “urgent” option when placing your application.

Additionally, we offer the option to use a courier service instead of standard postal delivery. Please contact us to receive a payment link for the additional courier fees, as these costs are not included in the standard price, only the regular postal delivery is covered.

There are several ways to submit your passport to us. You can either drop it off at our office in Hoofddorp, send it by post (registered or via courier), or have us pick it up (either the next day or, in urgent cases, the same day). Please note that additional fees will apply for this service.

In some cases, our pickup service may be available on the same day. The availability and costs depend on the pickup location, the time of day, and the current workload of our courier service. The costs for next-day pickup are also influenced by the pickup location.

After submitting the online application form, you need to complete the payment. You can do this using iDeal, PayPal, Bancontact, or credit card.

If there is a surcharge for your chosen pickup and/or shipping method, this will be added directly to the total amount.

For custom urgent courier services (for pickup and/or delivery), the costs will be invoiced afterward.

The data and documents you need to provide depend on your travel purpose (touristic or business), the number of entries required in China, and the validity period of the visa you desire. After you submit the online application for the visa to China, you will receive a personal email from us with instructions for providing the necessary documents for your situation.

The passport must be valid for at least seven months after each entry. The passport must contain at least one blank page.

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O”, but they can contain the number “0”. Even though it seems that there is a letter O in your passport, it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are 9 characters long.
Belgian document numbers may include the letter (s) “O” and / or the number “0”. Belgian document numbers are 8 characters long and always start with 2 letters followed by 6 numbers.

You can enter nine zeros (000000000) in the input field on the application form.

The passport photo must be hardcopy (on paper and not digital), taken in the last 3 months in the format 35x45mm. to be delivered. The passport photo must be of high quality and in color with a white background. Headwear is only allowed in the passport photo if this is for religious reasons: The visibility of the entire face is then a requirement.
The passport photo must be loose (so not attached to the application form in any way) and free of any glue / staple remnants.

No, for the application of a Cuba evisa, you do not need confirmation of your flight or accommodations but is good to have one for filling in the Dviajeros.

If you are traveling to Cuba for business purposes, a guarantee letter is required. This must be completed and signed by your employer. Please contact us for this.

If you are traveling to Cuba for business, you will need an invitation letter. This letter must be written on company letterhead from the inviting party in Cuba (a copy is allowed).

Unfortunately, it is not possible to make changes to already filled tourist cards. The only way to correct an error is to submit a new application. In this case, the payment will also need to be made again.

The Cuba visa is an evisa that replaces the old green tourist card.

Your Evisa is valid if you enter Cuba by plane and if you have an EU passport, UK or an American passsport.

Because the Cuba evisa does not specify an arrival date, it can be applied for one year before departure from Cuba.

We recommend applying for the business visa up to at least 15 days before departure, because we send the Cuba visa to you by regular mail. As a result, delivery within the Netherlands is at most 4 business days and 8 business days for shipments to Belgium.

Important to know:

If you have been in Cuba or made a stopover as of January 11, 2021, you cannot apply for an ESTA to the United States.

In this case, you must apply for a regular visa to the United States.
