Your original passport with a validity of at least 6 months after the expiry date of your visa.

Therefore it is important that the applicant can provide a flight- and a hotel confirmation.
Were you born on Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Sint Eustatius or Saba and do you have a valid Dutch passport? Then you do not need a visa for an unlimited stay.
Validity
- The Digital Immigration Card offers you a stay of maximum 90 consecutive days in Curaçao
- You can stay in Curaçao for up to 180 days per year
Important information
- We recommend that you combine a printout of your Digital Immigration Card with your passport before traveling to your destination.
- Save the application (or email) of your e-Visa. This way you don’t have to fill it in again if you travel to the same destination again.
- If you do not have the NL of BE nationality, please check well in advance if you also require to have a Visitor Visa for Curacao, this along with the embarktion card we provide here on our website. It is not possible to submit your Visitor Visa Curacao application by someone else, as you have to make an appointment and be present in person yourself at your nearest Dutch embassy or consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Visitor Visa Curacao
In order to enter Curacao all travelers must have a valid embartion card. However, some nationals cannot travel on the Digital Embarktion Card alone. As stated above it is very important that you do your research and apply for a Visitor Visa in advance if you are not eligible to travel on just the Digi Card.
Please check here if your nationality requires a Visitor Visa for Curacao as well. If you need a Visitor visa, you must make an appointment at your nearest Dutch embassy or consulate and submit below stated documents. Do keep in mind that some nationalities might have to submit additional documents! Do your research well in advance, in order to prevent dissapointment.
Required documents for Visitor Visa Curacao:
- Application form. You must submit a completed and signed Caribbean visa application form. You must sign the form during your appointment in the presence of a consular officer.
- Passport. You must provide a passport or other travel document containing at least two blank pages. It should be valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom. When you submit your application, you must also submit your passport. If you need proof that your passport is being held by the embassy or consulate-general, bring an extra photocopy with you. The embassy or consulate-general will stamp the photocopy for you free of charge.
- Proof of legal residence. You must be able to prove that you are legally resident in the country you are applying from. To do this, you can provide your passport, residence permit or a visa.
- 1 colour Photograph. Bring a photo that meets the Dutch requirements for passport photos.
- Travel itinerary. You must clearly demonstrate your travel itinerary. For example, by providing your flight reservation. You are advised not to buy tickets before you have received your visa. Or you can make an itinerary yourself, for instance: 20 JULY 2022 Day 1, visiting TOWN, 21 JULY 2022 Day 2. Rest in hotel, 23 JULY 2022 Day 3, Sightseing etc.
- Proof of sufficient funds (tourists and business travellers and family visitis) You must provide proof that you have enough money to cover the cost of your accommodation and stay. On average, this is between USD 150 and USD 200 a day. For family visit 100 USD a day will suffice. You should provide 3 recent bank statements (paper or digital) bearing your name and address. You can also show signed traveller’s cheques bearing your name.
- Guarantor’s declaration. If you cannot prove that you have enough money, a family member or friend from the part(s) of the Kingdom you are visiting must act as a guarantor. They do this by applying for a financial guarantor’s declaration. The guarantor must arrange this in person with the local authorities, who must also legalise the declaration.
- Copy of hotel/accomodation with the name and check in- and out dates on it
- Medical insurance statement letter, see requirements below.
In the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom, your guarantor can arrange a guarantor’s declaration through the following bodies:
- Aruba: Department of Legislation and Legal Affairs (Directie Wetgeving en Juridische Zaken)
- Curaçao: Toelatingsorganisatie Curaçao
- St Maarten: Civil Registry Department (Dienst Burgerzaken)
- Bonaire, St Eustatius and Saba: IND Caribbean Netherlands
When applying for your visa, you must show that your guarantor has enough money to cover your stay. On average, this is around USD 100 a day. To do this, you must provide the following documents (obtained from your guarantor):
- the legalised guarantor’s declaration
- their 3 most recent bank statements
- their 3 most recent payslips
- an employer’s declaration or employment contact
- a photocopy of their passport or identity card.
Additional information on the purpose of your visit
Visiting family or friends: You must provide a guarantor’s declaration, letter or email proving that you will be staying with the person in question.
- Tourism: You must provide a copy of your accommodation reservation containing the contact details and your reservation number. Or you must provide proof that you are taking part in a group trip.
Medical insurance requirements
You must show an official document from your insurance company. The document must prove that the insurance is in your name. It must also prove that your insurance policy provides medical cover:
- in all Caribbean parts of the Kingdom
- for the entire duration of your stay
- for at least USD 15,000
- for hospital care, emergency treatment and repatriation (including in the event of death).
If your insurance policy does not cover the above, or if you do not have an official document proving this, you must take out a policy that does provide this cover.
Please note: Providing these documents does not automatically entitle you to a visa. The embassy or consulate can refuse your application or request additional information.
What is a visa for Curaçao?
As of October 2019, all travelers from the EU are required to apply for a digital authorization/visa for Curaçao before departure. Before it was possible to fill in an Embarkation and Disembarkation (ED card) on the plane to Curaçao. Nowadays this is no longer possible and you are obliged to apply for a Digital Immigration Card prior to your trip. This digital visa is an online authorization letter that allows you to enter the borders of Curaçao. Do you need a Curaçao visa? Curaçao visa validity
The Curaçao e-visa gives you the opportunity to stay in Curaçao for up to 90 days for touristic, private or business purposes. Children must also be in possession of their own e-visa for Curaçao. With this ED-card you are allowed to stay in Curaçao for a maximum of 180 executive days per calendar year.
You can apply for your Curaçao visa within 1 year before your departure date. This gives you the opportunity to arrange the visa well in advance, so that you can travel worry free.

Tourist travelers must be in possession of a Digital Immigration Card before departure. Upon arrival in Curaçao, these travelers aged 18 and older can use the so-called eGates at the airport. If you are traveling with children under the age of 18, you must report to a customs officer upon arrival.
Business travelers can also use the Digital Immigraton Card. You can easily request this here. With this visa you can also use the eGates upon arrival at the airport.
Transit
You do not need to apply for a visa in advance if you transfer without a new check-in in Curaçao. For instance, when traveling to another country without leaving the transit area, you do not need to apply for a visa Curacao in advance. Is your transit time longer than 24 hours or do you have to check-in again upon arrival in Curacao? Then you must have obtained a visa Curacao and/or ED-card before boarding your plane.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!
The Digital Immigration Card for Curaçao is, as the name suggests, an online immigration form, which you must apply for before departure. It is therefore NOT the Visitor visa / Schengen visa for the Netherlands or Curaçao. All travelers with Curaçao as their point of arrival must have the Digital Immigration Card for Curaçao before departure. When placing the application on our website, we assume that the applicant has taken sufficient notice and has any additional documents for Curaçao.
EU passport holders (including NL and BE) do not need a Curaçao visa, because Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. You must have the Digi Card, which is required for the immigration service.
Foreign passport holders (who may or may not reside in the Netherlands or another country) should find out for themselves before departure whether they also need a visa for Curaçao in addition to the Digital Immigration Card. This visa must be applied for in person at the authorities of the embassy or consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. If you have a foreign passport, but you live in one of the (visa) exempt countries listed below, such as the Netherlands, and you have a valid Schengen visa, you can use it to travel to Curaçao. In all other cases you need to apply for a Caribbean visa (short or long stay) a few weeks before departure.
In addition, the immigration service may also ask for other additional documents, such as a hotel confirmation or proof of sufficient financial means, in addition to proof of residence (such as a residence permit or a valid return visa). This is at all times up to the immigration officer handling your entry.
