Validity of the ED Card
The ED Card for Aruba has no limited validity, but must be completed and submitted at least 7 days before your departure. It is important to do this on time so that you can travel to Aruba hassle-free and get through customs quickly. Be sure to fill out the ED Card completely and provide the necessary information to avoid delays!
Terms of the ED Card
Note: The requested ED Card is not an actual visa, just an entry/exit card. The Aruba Immigration Department is the final authority in deciding who may enter the country. Only they have the right to grant or deny entry to travelers at the border. Entry to Aruba may be denied if all entry requirements are not met, or if a traveler is blacklisted. Thus, possession of a valid visa or an approved ED Card does not automatically guarantee admission to the island.
The standard length of stay for a tourist is 30 days, however a number of nationalities may stay in Aruba up to a maximum of 180 days per calendar year if an extension is requested. Check here to see if your nationality falls under this.
Cost of the ED Card
Certain groups of travelers are exempt from payment for the ED Card. The following individuals do not have to pay the payment fee:
1. Aruba residents (residents of Aruba).
2. Children under the age of 8
3. Repeat travelers who have already paid for a visit to Aruba within the same calendar year
4. Cruise passengers visiting Aruba as part of their trip
5. Aruban students who can prove that they are studying at a foreign educational institution and who have not lived as residents of the island for more than eight years prior to their arrival in Aruba

Transfer with ED Card
If you make a transfer in Aruba between 07:00 and 23:00 and do not leave the international transit zone, it is not necessary to apply for an ED Card. You will then remain in the transit zone and will not be considered a traveler entering Aruba. Make sure that your flight falls within these times and that you do not have to go through border formalities to continue traveling.
Definition ED Card
The ED Card (Embarkation and Disembarkation Card) is a required document for travelers traveling to Aruba. It is a form you must fill out online before entering the island, and it helps the Aruban authorities register your travel details and facilitate your entry.
In fact, the ED Card performs a similar function to a visa, but instead of a visa stamp, you fill out this form digitally to gain entry to Aruba.
