  • Your arrival in India may not be over land
  • In addition, the India visa is only valid upon arrival at the following airports: Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bagdogra, Bengaluru, Calicut, Chennai, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Mengalore, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Tiruchirapalli, Trivandrum, Varanasi and Vishakhapatnam.
  • Finally, the e-visa India is valid for 120 days from the time of issue, of which the stay should not exceed 60 days. An e-visa India is a double-entry visa, but both entries must take place within 60 days of entry.

  •
  • The tourist e-visa with the validity of 30 days is valid for 30 days from the moment of entry. With this visa you have two entries from the moment you enter the country and obtain the stamp in your passport. The first entry must take place within the expiration date indicated on your visa.
  •
  • The business e-visa is valid for 365 days from the time of issue. This allows you multiple entries, where the stay does not exceed 180 consecutive days. Are you staying in India for more than 180 days? Then you must register yourself with the FRRO/FRO within 2 weeks before your 180 day entry expires .

Conditions of the e-visa

Not just anyone may apply for an e-visa India or travel into the country with it. To do so, you need to meet the following things:

  1. You have a passport from a country that is exempt from the regular visa (and thus may travel on an e-visa).
  2. Both when entering and leaving India, you do so only through the designated border posts.
  3. You comply with the other requirements, such as having a valid passport and providing the proper details and documents.

Do all three points apply to you? Then you can confidently apply for an electronic visa India. Are you in doubt or do you think you can't meet the requirements on any level? Then please contact us. Our visa experts will be happy to advise you and work with you to find suitable options tailored to your situation and requirements.

Meaning e-visa

E-visa with Multiple Entries

Are you applying for an e-visa with multiple entries? Then you will receive a visa with one year validity, which allows you to enter and leave the country multiple times on the same visa. You get 90 days per stay instead of 30.

The advantage is that you can use the visa multiple times. Especially for business travelers who have to go back and forth more often, this is often the cheaper solution than having to apply for a visa again and again. The annual visa is also the solution if you think you will stay in the country for more than 30 days.

The annual visa can be applied for up to 1 year before departure, provided that the passport details are the same as the details of the visa application by the time you travel.

Are you unsure about the type of visa that is best for your trip, or would you like more information? Then contact us. We will be happy to give you appropriate advice.

The costs for these types of visas vary, and you can find the prices on the application form.

Regular Visa:

A regular visa is stamped in your passport. This visa is available for both tourists and business travelers and is valid for 5 years. Within this period, you can travel to India multiple times.

  • It is also possible to apply for a 1-year visa. However, you must state the reason why the visa should only be for 1 year instead of 5 years.
  • Travelers between the ages of 12 and 70 are required to provide biometric data at the embassy in The Hague. Therefore, you must also make an appointment for this.
How long am I allowed to stay in India?

Business and tourism e-visas for India are valid for one year from the date of issue.

If you apply for the e-tourist visa, you may stay in India for a maximum of 30 consecutive days.

In both cases, you may enter India multiple times.

If you apply for a medical e-visa, it is valid for 60 days from your first entry into India. It allows for a maximum of 3 entries.

If you wish to stay longer in India or if you are a traveler looking to study, do volunteer work, or join an Indian organization, you must apply for a regular/physical visa with us.

Please contact us regarding this.

Do children need to have their own visa?

Yes. Everyone traveling, regardless of age, must have their own visa. For a trip to India you have to take into account extra rules. It is no longer allowed for children to be included in their passport with their parents. In addition, children aged 12 years and older must also provide biometric data.

Am I allowed to live and/or study on my visa?

This is not allowed with the online-requested e-visa, in this case you must apply for a physical visa from us, please contact us for questions regarding a physical visa.

I want to work in India. Which visa do I need?
If you are going to work in India as part of a business trip, the business e-visa for India is sufficient. If you want to join an Indian organization you must apply for a physical visa.

What will it cost me if I let Traveldocs handle my documents?

The costs for the physical visa vary depending on the type of visa and processing time. This includes processing fees, consular fees, transaction fees, and VAT.

If you want to have data and/or documents picked up or delivered to your home, you will incur additional shipping costs.

You can also use an expedited procedure, which will also incur an additional fee. The amount of these fees depends on the desired delivery time and type of visa.

Why are the costs higher for a regular visa?

The reason that the costs for a regular visa are relatively high compared to an e-visa is that it involves not only more work but also more time.

An electronic visa can be arranged on the computer within minutes. For the regular visa, the embassy must cover the costs for conducting an interview and collecting biometric data. In return, you can travel to India without worry for up to 5 years.

Is there an urgent procedure for the e-visa for India?

Yes, the physical visa and the e-visa for India can also be obtained urgently. The usual processing time for both the business and tourist visa is 6 working days, but if you make an urgent application, it is 3 working days.

An additional fee applies for this expedited procedure, which you can find on the application form.
