A regular visa is stamped in your passport. This visa is available for both tourists and business travelers and is valid for 5 years. Within this period, you can travel to India multiple times.

  • It is also possible to apply for a 1-year visa. However, you must state the reason why the visa should only be for 1 year instead of 5 years.

How long am I allowed to stay in India?

Business and tourism e-visas for India are valid for one year from the date of issue.

If you apply for the e-tourist visa, you may stay in India for a maximum of 30 consecutive days.

In both cases, you may enter India multiple times.

If you apply for a medical e-visa, it is valid for 60 days from your first entry into India. It allows for a maximum of 3 entries.

If you wish to stay longer in India or if you are a traveler looking to study, do volunteer work, or join an Indian organization, you must apply for a regular/physical visa with us.

Please contact us regarding this.

Do children need to have their own visa?

Yes. Everyone traveling, regardless of age, must have their own visa. For a trip to India you have to take into account extra rules. It is no longer allowed for children to be included in their passport with their parents. In addition, children aged 12 years and older must also provide biometric data.

Am I allowed to live and/or study on my visa?

This is not allowed with the online-requested e-visa, in this case you must apply for a physical visa from us, please contact us for questions regarding a physical visa.

I want to work in India. Which visa do I need?
If you are going to work in India as part of a business trip, the business e-visa for India is sufficient. If you want to join an Indian organization you must apply for a physical visa.

What will it cost me if I let Traveldocs handle my documents?

The costs for the physical visa vary depending on the type of visa and processing time. This includes processing fees, consular fees, transaction fees, and VAT.

If you want to have data and/or documents picked up or delivered to your home, you will incur additional shipping costs.

You can also use an expedited procedure, which will also incur an additional fee. The amount of these fees depends on the desired delivery time and type of visa.

Why are the costs higher for a regular visa?

The reason that the costs for a regular visa are relatively high compared to an e-visa is that it involves not only more work but also more time.

An electronic visa can be arranged on the computer within minutes. For the regular visa, the embassy must cover the costs for conducting an interview and collecting biometric data. In return, you can travel to India without worry for up to 5 years.

Does my passport state the letter O or the number 0?

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O”, but they can contain the number “0”. Even though it seems that there is a letter O in your passport, it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are 9 characters long.
