The visa application for China is possible between 90 days and about 3 weeks before departure, depending on the visa type you have chosen. You can also use our emergency procedure. To ensure that the visa is issued on time, we recommend that you submit the application a few weeks before departure.

Is there an urgent procedure available?

Yes, the visa for China can also be applied for urgently. You can choose from 2, 3 or 4 working days procedures on the application form. More information about the extra costs and operation of these procedures can be found on the page with costs and delivery times visa China.

Do I have to travel on the date stated in my application?

This depends on the type of visa, but you must travel within the validity dates specified on the visa. If you have changed your trip and it is no longer within the validity of the visa, you must apply for a new visa.

Please note that for China you must already be in possession of both a hotel confirmation (or an invitation if the stay will be with friends or family) and a flight schedule by name, for both the outward and return journeys.

Do I have to fill in my information again if I want to travel multiple times to China?

No. After obtaining your first single or double entry visa, it is possible to apply for a multiple entry visa, with which you can travel in and out of the country several times. Here, however, the requirement applies that you can present a copy of an old visa (which is not older than 12 months) and that you have at least 3 Chinese stamps in your passport, all three not older than 1 year.
In all other cases it is possible to request a double entry, but you must be able to prove by means of a flight and hotel confirmation when you will enter the country both times.

Other (travel) stamps inside your passport
The Chinese government has become very strict since August 2016 when it comes to issuing visas to travelers with stamps in their passports from countries such as the Middle East, Egypt and Turkey. If, from 2015, you have obtained multiple stamps in your passport for one of these “risk” countries, we recommend enclosing a cover letter in English, containing:
• State when and why you visited the country
• State what your purpose of the trip has been
• Describe in as much detail as possible what you did there
• If possible, provide proof as well. Think of payments / purchase invoices, providing references such as friends / family you have visited there, any invitation letters, etc.

There is a good chance that you will be called on interview at the embassy. So keep this in mind. This appointment is not the same as the appointment for the biometrics and can cause a longer processing time for your visa application. Please apply 6 weeks before departure, to make sure you will have enough time.
Is it possible to apply as a group?

Yes, it is possible to add multiple travelers traveling to China together on one application form. Because a lot of data only has to be entered once, this can save a lot of input. Ask us about the possibilities.

How do I send my passport and documents?

There are several submission methods available: you can drop off your documents at our office in Hoofddorp, send them yourself (registered mail or courier), or have us pick them up (the next day or, in urgent cases, on the same day).

Sometimes our pickup service can be utilized on the same day. The availability and costs of this depend on the pickup location, the time of day, and the workload of our courier service. Additionally, the costs for next-day pickup also depend on the pickup location.

You can contact us by phone for more information about our pickup service options.

How do I receive back my passport with the visa?

There are several ways to receive your passport back with the visa for China. In the online application form, you can indicate your preferred option: picking it up yourself at our office in Hoofddorp, picking it up at Schiphol, courier delivery the next working day, registered mail, or courier delivery on the day of approval (surcharge upon request)*.

*Please call us to inquire about the possibilities, as this is not always feasible.

The prices are per application and not per visa. If multiple visas are requested with one application form, the shipping costs remain the same (with a maximum of 4 passports per shipment).

Wanneer en hoe moet ik betalen voor het visum voor China?

After submitting the online application form, you need to complete the payment. You can do this with iDeal, PayPal, Bancontact, or credit card. If there is a surcharge for the pickup and/or delivery method you have chosen, it will be added directly to the total amount.
