Is there also a rush procedure for e-visa Sri Lanka?

If you are already leaving for Sri Lanka at short notice, you can also use our urgent procedure which is granted on average within an hour. How far before the trip can/should I apply for the visa for India from you?

You can apply for the Sri Lanka e-visa even before you have booked your flight tickets or accommodation. Usually, you will receive the e-visa within a few days to be on the safe side, we recommend that you apply at least one week before departure. How does the visa process for Sri Lanka work?

The Sri Lanka visa application process begins online. To do so, open the online application form. After filling in all the details of the particular traveler(s), the application can be paid, very easily. This is possible with iDeal, Bancontact, Paypal or with Credit Card. Once the payment is completed you will receive (within a maximum of 1 hour) an e-mail from us with instructions on how to provide the required documents. After you have completed and signed the form, please return it to us by email together with a scan of your passport. We will use your information to submit the application for you. After submission we will be notified within 24 hours, in practice often the same day.

Is the application entirely online?

Yes, the visas for tourist and business travel with a maximum stay of 30 days and the visas for transfers in Sri Lanka can be applied for entirely online. 
So you do not need to send documents or travel to the consulate yourself. The visa is processed digitally and delivered to you by e-mail.

What types of visas are available for Sri Lanka?

How long is the visa valid?

Both tourist and business visas are valid for 30 days, the transfer/transit visa is valid for 48 hours. Do you wish to stay longer than 30 days in Sri Lanka? Then you can ask the local  Immigration Office to ask for a Visa Extension. This can be extended up to 90 days. More info can be found at www.immigration.gov.lk. An application for extension must be submitted  with the Visa Section of the Department of Immigration (head office) or be handled by an Authorized Agent in Sri Lanka. Do you wish in advance to stay longer than 90 days in Sri Lanka?

What documents is required for a visa Sri Lanka application?

To submit your application, you will need the passport information for the traveler(s) for whom you are applying for a visa. You also need to have an emergency contact, this may be a family member or a friend staying at home. No other documents are required to submit the application, nor do you need to have airline tickets yet, nor is it necessary to provide passport (copy) or passport photos.

Which conditions apply to my passport?

All passports issued by the Dutch or Belgian government meet the conditions set by Sri Lanka. However, the passport must still be valid for at least six months from the time the traveler arrives in Sri Lanka.

 

Do accommodations and airfare need to be booked before I apply for the Sri Lanka Visa?

You can apply for the Sri Lanka e-visa even before you have booked your flight tickets or accommodation. However, you must be able to show a ticket from your return or onward flight to another country when entering Sri Lanka.

Is there an O (letter) or a 0 (number) in my passport?

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O,” but may contain the digit “0.” So even if it looks like there is a letter O in your passport , it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are nine characters long.

Belgian document numbers may have the letter(s) “O” and/or the digit “0”. Belgian document numbers are eight characters long and always begin with two letters followed by six digits.

 

Which conditions apply to my photograph?

For e-visa, the scan should be sharp and legible, the information page should be in full view. The passport photo/scan for both e-visa and physical visa should be of high quality and in color with a white background. Head covering is allowed on the passport photo only if it is for religious consideration: having the entire face visible is then a requirement.

Can my application still be canceled?

Cancellation is only possible before payment is completed. Once we have received payment for your e-visa application we will process it immediately and a refund of your payment is not possible from that moment on. If you made a mistake during the application, you can submit a new application. Costs for this new application will be entirely for your own account.

Will I get a refund if I don't use my visa?

If your application is approved then under no circumstances will you get your money back. Not even if you do not use your visa.

It is therefore not possible to claim a refund after submitting your application.

Can my application still be canceled?

After receiving your passport scan and other documents, we will process your application. From then on, canceling the application is not possible. If you want to cancel your application before you have provided your passport and documents please contact us.

Will I get a refund if I don't use my visa?

If your e-visa application is approved you will not get your money back under any circumstances. Not even if you do not use your e-visa.

I made a mistake in my application and/or documents. Can I correct this error?

In this case, please contact us as soon as possible to indicate what is not in order. Whether your visa application can still be corrected depends on the nature of the error and the status of your application. If we have not delivered your application to the embassy yet, it is possible to make changes. If your application is already in the hands of the embassy, there is nothing we can do. You must obtain a new visa with the proper information and cancel the existing one.
