General questions
Do I need an e-visa for Tanzania?

The e-visa for Tanzania is an official document that is electronically linked to your passport, allowing you to travel in Tanzania for 90 days. This document replaces the visa; no visa or label will be placed in the passport.

What types of visas are available?

There are various visas available for Tanzania. The type of visa depends on your travel purpose. The most common are tourist visas and business visas. However, there are also family visit visas, volunteer visas, work visas, transit visas, conference visas, student visas, and visas on personal invitation.

The purpose of your trip determines which type of visa you need to apply for. If you are unsure which visa is most applicable to your situation, please do not hesitate to contact us! Our staff can advise you on this matter.

How long can I stay in Tanzania?

The visa for Tanzania is valid for 90 days upon arrival.

Can I visit Tanzania multiple times?

Yes. However, a multiple-entry visa is only available if the trip is for business, medical purposes, or if you are going to do volunteer work. Please note that strict conditions apply to this visa, so for questions regarding this visa, it is best to contact us.

Do children also need to apply for a visa for Tanzania?

Yes, everyone traveling, regardless of age, must present a visa upon entering Tanzania. This means that everyone must have their own passport (children cannot be included in a parent’s/guardian’s passport), to which the e-visa is linked.

Additionally, individuals under 18 traveling alone or with only one parent/guardian must provide a copy of the birth certificate, parental consent from the parents/guardians, and a copy of their passports.

Do I need to do anything after I receive the e-visa?

After the visa for Tanzania is granted, you will immediately receive an email with a link to download and print the visa. Keep the printed visa with your passport so you can present it at passport control in Tanzania.
