Do I need an e-visa for Turkey?

Is it possible to buy an e-visa for Turkey at the airport?

No, it is no longer possible to purchase an e-visa at the airport. If you want to enter Turkey, you must apply for an e-visa online in advance.

How can I apply for an e-visa for Turkey?

An e-visa can only be applied for online. To apply for the e-visa, simply fill out our online application form on this website. After filling in you will be redirected to our payment page from where you can pay quickly and easily with iDeal, Paypal, Bancontact or Credit card.

As soon as the payment has been made, we will process your request. You will always receive an e-mail within 72 hours (also check your junk mail folder) stating whether your e-visa has been approved or rejected.

How far in advance can I apply for the e-visa for Turkey?

You can apply for the e-visa for Turkey even before you have booked your flight tickets or accommodation. Typically, you will receive the e-visa within a few days; for certainty, we recommend submitting your application at least a week before departure.

If you are departing for Turkey on short notice, you can also use our expedited procedure, which is usually granted within an hour. However, there can never be a guarantee on delivery times, as the Turkish government reserves the right to manually review applications before approval, which in rare cases (including expedited applications) may lead to some delay.

Do children have to obtain their own visa for Turkey?

Yes, a separate e-visa must be applied for for your child, even if it is included in the passport of one of the parents. Multiple visas can be applied for with one application form, in which case you must use the passport data of the parent who has the child in the passport for the child.

 
Is my visa still valid if a get a new passport or ID card?

If you have received a new passport or identity document after granting your visa, you will have to submit a new visa application. The visa and passport / identity document are linked to each other by means of the passport / identity card number and must therefore be agreed upon.

Is it possible to apply with an ID card instead of a passport?

Yes, you can easily apply for a Turkey e-visa online with a valid ID (ID card), but please note that this ID card has to be valid for at least your entire stay in Turkey.

 
Can the e-visa for Turkey be applied for urgently?

Yes, if you urgently need an e-visa, you only need to tick the option “urgent” on the online application form. If you submit this urgent application, it will be processed immediately and you will usually be granted the e-visa within an hour, please note: this is an average delivery time and no warranty can be given here, in exceptional cases an urgent application can only be give a definite answer after 72 hours.

I am a status holder; can I apply for an e-visa for Turkey?

Residents in the Netherlands who are status holders and hold a residence permit cannot apply for an e-visa. Only travelers with an officially issued Dutch passport or ID card may apply for an e-visa. Is it possible to apply for someone else?

Yes, this is possible. For this you only need to have the travel information and passport details of the traveler (s) concerned.

Am I allowed to work in Turkey on my e-visa?

No, a condition for obtaining an e-visa for Turkey is that you do not work for a Turkish organization as an employee. You can only work with an e-visa in Turkey if you are employed by an organization that is not located in Turkey.

It is therefore possible to make a business trip in the employment of your Dutch or Belgian employer with an online e-visa.

Do I have to travel on the date stated on my application?

No, you do not have to.
Note: You may only travel within the validity dates stated on the visa for Turkey. Your passport must also be valid for another 150 days on arrival and an ID card must be valid for at least the entire stay in Turkey. If you have changed your trip and it is no longer within the validity of the visa, you must apply for a new visa.

Does my passport state the letter O or the number 0?

Document numbers in the Netherlands never contain the letter “O”, but they can contain the number “0”. Even though it seems that there is a letter O in your passport, it will be the number 0. It is also important to know that document numbers in the Netherlands are 9 characters long.
Belgian document numbers may include the letter (s) “O” and / or the number “0”. Belgian document numbers are 8 characters long and always start with 2 letters followed by 6 numbers.

Do I need to have booked flight tickets and accommodation before applying for the e-visa?

No, you can apply for the Turkey e-visa before you have arranged a ticket and place of residence.
