Validity Mongolian visa
Both the Mongolia e-visa and the regular Mongolia visa allow you to stay in the country for 30 days.
- The regular visa is valid for 90 days after issuance, with the stay of 30 days falling within this period.
- The e-visa Mongolia is valid for 150 days from the moment of issue. Here too you can stay in the country for up to 30 days within the visa validity.

Processing time
It varies per visa type how long it takes the Mongolian authorities before your application is ready (for use).
The e-visa has a processing time of only 72 hours or 3 working days. These start the day after your application has been submitted to Traveldocs and passed on to the Mongolian Immigration Service.
The regular visa is ready within approximately 7 days after submission to the embassy in Brussels. Because we have to bring your passport and documents to Belgium and collect them again, we charge 2 working days extra for driving up and down.

Advantage of buying the e-Visa Mongolia
The advantage of the Mongolia e-visa is that everything is done entirely online and is ready in just 3 days. It is a quick process, where you no longer have to hand over your passport or documents in person. You can therefore simply keep and use your passport during processing. In addition, the Mongolian e-visa is valid for longer than the regular visa, which gives you more time to prepare your trip and for the visa application itself.
The downside of the Mongolia e-visa is that it can be inconvenient for those who are not very good at working on computers and you only get one entry with the e-visa. This means that as soon as you exit the Mongolian borders, your e-visa will no longer be valid and cannot be used again.
Advantage of buying the regular visa Mongolia
The regular visa has the advantage that it often has a double entry. This is especially necessary for those who take the Trans-Siberian express if you will enter the country several times and therefore travel through Mongolia both outward and back by train. The e-visa Mongolia expires as soon as you have left the Mongolian borders and you may have to apply again from abroad. With the regular visa you do not have this problem.
The disadvantage of the regular Mongolia visa is that the costs are much higher and you have to hand over your passport and documents. You will therefore lose this during the processing. This is not always pleasant and especially for business travelers who do not have a second passport, often inconvenient, because you lose the passport for 1 week.
