If you want to go to Tanzania for a  holiday or business trip , you must apply for a  regular Tanzania visa before traveling to the country. The Tanzania visa is issued by the Tanzanian government and it authorizes you to enter the territory of Tanzania, including Zanzibar Island. Upon arrival in Tanzania, your visa will be checked at passport control at the airport or at the border crossing.

 To apply for the  Tanzania online visa, you must provide your own file per person with the correct documents, together with your passport and a digital, official passport photo. You provide these documents when submitting the application or afterwards by e-mail.

The Tanzanian government requires that the visa applications are completely in order at the time of application. They can refuse the visa if the documentation of the application is not in order. This may also affect future trips to Tanzania. That is why it is important that you submit your application correctly the first time and according to the conditions. Fees, visa validity and processing time

The costs and processing time for the Tanzania visa vary per visa type. Normally, a normal visa application often takes up to 15 working days. You can also request an urgent procedure, in which case the visa can often be ready in 4 working days.

The costs for a Tanzania visa

  • The tourist visa , with 1 entry , can be obtained from € 84.95 . This visa is valid for 90 days from the time of issue. Within this period you may stay in the country for 30 days (excluding extension).
  • The business visa for Tanzania, with 1 entry, costs € 284.95 (note that the decision regarding the validity of the visa is up to the Tanzanian authorities). Usually, the business visa has a validity of 90 days after issue, with a stay of 30 consecutive days within the validity period.
  • A multiple entry visa costs € 219.90 and is a visa that allows you to travel in and out of Tanzania several times. You do not have to buy a new visa for each trip, as long as you travel within the  validity period of 12 months  (1 year after issue). Within this period you have 90 consecutive days of residence, during which you are obliged to leave the country every 3 months.
  • You cannot apply for a transit visa via our website, but Traveldocs can arrange it for you online. This visa costs from € 64.95 and you must apply for it by email . This visa is valid for 7 days.

Enter Tanzania on an e-Visa

You may enter the country on an e-visa via the border posts below. Are you traveling into the country elsewhere? Then this is not allowed on an electronic Tanzania visa, and you are obliged to apply for a regular visa well before departure, which must be affixed to your passport by a consular employee of the Tanzanian embassy. Extend your Tanzania visa
